The 30-year-old former two weight UFC champion announced his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at 10:18 PM – 25th March 2019.
The world former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor Mcgregor aka The Notorious, took to his Instagram page to announce his retirement from MMA after an interview on The Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon saying he doesn’t have to fight again that he is set for life.
Around 10:18 pm he tweeted ”Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today. I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!”
This isn’t the first time the Irish fighter has tweeted about his retirement, back in 2016 he also talked about retiring early with a tweet ”I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s later.”
His fans don’t seem to be convinced that he is retiring, some weren’t buying his retirement claims. Jorge Sedano reacted to his tweet;
After much speculations and views from different fans, Brett Okamoto tweeted a text message between himself and Dana White. Dana white says ” He has the money to retire and his Whiskey is killin it. It totally makes sense. If I was him I would retire too,”
The Irish fighter has achieved a lot which saw him into being ranked the forth world highest paid athletes with Floyd Mayweather in first position, Messi & Ronaldo in 2nd an 3rd last July.
