Cannes Film Festival

The annual film festival held in Cannes France again premiers the newest movies from around the world.

The festival is the place where film and fashion is incorporated onto the red carpet. Year after year A-list stars flaunt the latest fashion styles with bravado.

Cannes showcases the latest productions from mainstream and art house directors for example Once upon a time in Hollywood Staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie with screenplay by Quentin Tarantino and Pain and Glory a Spanish drama staring Penelope Cruz screenplay by Pedro Almodovar.

It is one of the biggest film festivals alongside Venice and Berlin.

Pop singer and Actress Selena Gomez will also be at Cannes this year for the premiere of her new movie The Dead Don’t Die which is opening the festival staring her and Bill Murray.

For those that don’t know, Cannes is all about the the red carpet moments. Most of the women who attend are dressed in elegant dresses by top designers fashion houses.

Here is a look at a few of my favorite looks from the past

  • 1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan making a magical Cinderella moment in 2017

This is a place where designers who didn’t do as well as they wanted to do during fashion month are almost given a second chance to redeem themselves in front of a wide audience

  • 2. Model Bella Hadid dressed in Dior with a beautiful necklace to go with it
  • 3. Blake Lively in 2014 wearing a Crystallized Chanel Couture

At the end of the Cannes Festival their are certain prizes awarded for example sometimes it’ll be for best film and others it will be smaller film houses according to the film critics the ultimate prize is Palme D’or in other words gold and smaller gifts are given to everyone who attends .

It will be exciting to see what extravagant outfits are showcased along with the movies too.
