Rihanna is known for her famous music career along with her raging makeup line, Fenty beauty which is now expanding to the UK

She has now become the first woman of colour to lead a fashion house under the LVMH one of the largest luxury groups) which leads a lot of big and well known brands such as Fendi, Dior and Givenchy.

The Brand is named FENTY after her own last name (Robyn Rihanna Fenty). and is under the same House of her makeup line Fenty Beauty so this is an extension from what already exists.

Rihanna who’s known for her bold choices and way of style. She was pretty much involved in the whole process when discussing the collection which will be including Clothing, Shoes and Accessories.

Tanisha Ford, who writes about fashion and black identity, says, “We see a woman of color with this much creative control in a luxury market where typically European men have dominated.”

In a statement from LMVH Rihanna has said , “Mr. [Bernard] Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector,  “

This is a very huge step for the luxury fashion world as it is mainly dominated by men much like the music industry where Rihanna is known from but now that LVMH has plunged and taken this step it won’t belong before others follow.

LVMH has been trying to be more diverse, as last year they took on Entrepreneur Virgil Abloh and he became the first African American to have a Fashion line with Louis Vuitton for menswear.
