Another teenager has been arrested following the investigation into the death of 15- year old Leah Heyes.
Fifteen year old, Leah Heyes died in hospital after collapsing in a car park in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, on Saturday evening.
North Yorkshire Police have said We believe that Leah had taken the drug MDMA – also known as ecstasy or a “bomb”.
A second arrest today was of a 18 year old boy who had been arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs, but after questioning had been released and but has been released under investigation.
The first arrest that was made was of a 17 year old boy who was arrested on suspicion of the same offence.
In a statement from the North Yorkshire police it read “Officers are continuing their investigation into Leah’s death to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic events of Saturday night.”
A post mortem is due to be carried out to determine the cause of her death. While Police are reiterating there warning to anyone who uses drugs, of the potential fatal consequences.
We urge anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information about the events on Saturday night, to come forward and speak to the police if they have not already done so.
