CELEBRITIES DONATING TO HELP STOP AUSTRALIAN FIRES

Celebrities from all over the world are donating to the Australian fire department and temporary accommodations for people affected, and are encouraging people to donate as well.

The fires started on November 11th a fire started in the Ravensbourne area near Toowoomba, which burnt through over 49,000 acres of bush across several days, destroying six houses. 

Celebrities all across the globe are donating huge amounts of money to help the Australian fire department, the WWF and give residents temporary accommodations.

The Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton pledges more than £380,000 to helping out with the Australian fires.

Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Laura Marano, Phoebe Tonkin, Pink and Lewis Hamilton all posted on their Instagram pages about the horrific times Australia is facing.

Lewis Hamilton posted a heartbreaking video on Instagram to spread awareness, with a caption stating ” It saddens me deeply to know that over 1 billion animals in Australia died a painful death, no way out, not their fault.”

The climate change activist, Greta Thunberg, has spoken out about the tragic wildfires that have happened in Australia, “The fires have spewed 2/3 of the nations national annual CO2 emissions, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The smoke has covered glaciers in distant New Zealand (!) making them warm and melt faster because of the albedo effect.”
