Barrhead Travel have opened another firm.

The travel company has opened another firm in the location of Darlington, amid the Thomas Cook collapse.

Today, the holiday company ‘Barrhead Travel’ has announced the fact that they have opened in Darlington, in Cornmill Centre, last week.

The company was formed in 1975 and has more than 85 locations around the U.K.

It’s owned by a ‘subsidiary’ North-American firm, known as Travel Leaders Group.

They’re planning to open 100 new ones around the U.K ahead of the collapse of Thomas Cook, as well as recruiting many different employees around the world.

20 of them will be opened by March 2020 and have a lot of ideas planned later this year.

The company is also volunteering and fundraising St. Teresa’s Hospice throughout the year.

It’s noted that the agency is run by Thomas Cook’s employee Rhion Singh, who has had 31 years of experience within that working industry.

Ms. Singh said that she’s ‘so excited about our [her] new venture in the Cornmill Centre, especially being able to have my original team by my side.’

‘We’re all really looking forward to opening the doors to welcome the customers of Darlington and the surrounding areas.’

She continued to say that ‘opening up as Barrhead Travel is a brilliant opportunity to allow us to harness our experience and knowledge.’

In Thomas Cook’s branch in Darlington employees were trained at, Glasgow’s, Barrhead Travel’s training academy.

According to the tabloid Northern Echo, they say that ‘the combined expertise of the full team totals almost 100 years of experience from the travel consultants.’

The President of Barrhead Travel, known as Jacqueline Dobson, said that she’s ‘thrilled to welcome Rhion and her team to the Barrhead Travel family.’

‘The opening of the store reflects our unwavering commitment to the high street travel agency; investment in bricks and mortar has been at the heart of our strategy since we opened our first store in 1975 and we will continue to place focus on the physical customer journey by combining experiential technology and genuine expertise from our local teams.’

Ms. Dobson continued to say the fact that Barrhead Travel ‘firmly believe that the demand for an experienced and knowledgeable travel agent is still on the rise as holidaymakers seek first-hand sound advice and guaranteed financial protection for their well-earned getaways.’

It’s noted that the travel company Hays have opened their branch in the same space, where Thomas Cook’s company was, in Darlington’s Prospect place, last year.

The Company had 500+ companies and employed 2,330 more Thomas Cook Staff.
