Prince Charles’ prospects as King

Prince Charles, who is the next in line to the throne, is the person I am covering in my article with his good points and bad points. Prince Charles will make a good King and whether he will stay out of politics as he can’t get involved as a constitutional monarch. I am pro-Charles, in support of him and as the next heir to the throne he carries a lot of titles such as Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, Earl of Chester and Prince of Scotland along with several others which many other members of the British Royal Family do not carry. In addition to this as most members of the British Royal Family have done, he has carried out military training in the army which he did for six years between 1971 and 1977. He holds the record as the longest serving Prince of Wales in history after his great-great grandfather Edward VII which he broke on the 9th September 2017.

The first audio clip has E.J. Ward who is a Royal Rota Editor and he talked about The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family being normal like everybody else in the United Kingdom.

Charles was originally named Prince of Wales back on the 26th July 1958 which is the usual title given to the future next male heir to the throne. He was sent to Gordonstoun School in the early 1960s just as he had entered his teens following his father Prince Philip or had first gone their back in 1937 after immigrating to the UK from Nazi Germany. He has since spoken of his experiences describing it as ‘Colditz in Kilts’ as he was bullied at the school by older boys. Prince Charles will most likely become Prince Regent when his mother The Queen turns 95 in two years’ time which means he will be able to take over more of the Queen’s main duties such as seeing and signing documents. However, he has shown his political opinions before which he can’t do as a member of the Royal Family and when he eventually becomes King because as a constitutional monarch he cannot express his political opinions. When he becomes King he will take the regent name Charles III although there have been debates that he might take the name George (which is one of his middle names) because of some of his predecessors who have borne the same name with Charles I being beheaded after losing the English Civil War and Charles II having many mistresses and fleeing the country before returning to the throne again.

The Prince has set up the Prince’s Trust which he set up back in the mid-1970s and originally first appeared in the Daily Mail newspaper. It focuses on helping vulnerable young people to get their lives back on track. The trust has been very beneficial to a lot of young people as many of them have been helped and have benefited from the trust. He has however endured strong criticism for his political views in the past and for his meddling inside politics which he can’t do as a constitutional monarch. With this feature article there is a lot of work with Prince Charles being the next in line to the throne and will become King. He has done a lot charity work and this has earnt him a lot support and respect from people in the UK, across commonwealth and the world. There are people who have doubts over whether he will make a good King but he has also won over a lot support with his wife Camilla even though they are both divorces from both of their first marriages. There have been previous monarchs such as Henry VIII who have married six times, several divorcees and annulments, as well as having two of his wives killed for not bringing a male heir yet remained King. Charles’ great uncle Edward VIII abdicated as the women he loved couldn’t become Queen alongside him and so married Wallis Simpson without becoming King and lived the rest of his life in exile in France although he did make occasional visits back to the United Kingdom.

The second clip is about him talking about how long it takes to be a Royal Correspondent as well as teaching people how to curtsey and bow when meeting the monarch. he furthers talks about them being just normal people wanting to do ordinary things like everybody else.

Prince Charles grey hair

Another reason for this could be because of the amount of criticism which Charles received throughout the years for numerous different reasons as a result of his infidelity and meddling in politics which has led some people to questions whether he will be fit to be King when the opportunity arises after the Queen passes away. This includes getting involved with the black spider memos in which a series of letters were written and published by Prince Charles over a series of years and released in 2005 bought in controversy and were seen as controversial at the time. There were people at the time who questioned whether he would make a good king as a result of the black spider memos. Prince Charles has appeared in popular culture before such as a 2014 play called King Charles III (Charles III is widely seen as his regnal name when he takes the throne). There are some people who believe he will use his middle name George as a tribute to his maternal grandfather King George VI who passed away when Charles was only 3 years old. In recent years there are people who have described Prince Charles as the hardest working member of the Royal Family with him carrying out 560 official engagements in 2008, 499 in 2010 and over 600 in 2011. The only other member of the British Royal Family who has been known to do as much work excluding the Queen is his younger sister Princess Anne, The Princess Royal.

In the bottom clip hexz talks about the monarch as a figurehead and having power (even though they don’t have power) as well as people having a lot of trust for the Queen as well saying that Prince Charles will be a reformal monarch where more people in the Royal Family will be losing their titles.

In conclusion, I believe Prince Charles has a chance to become a great King when the time comes as long as he doesn’t involve himself in politics which is something a monarch cannot do as a constitutional monarchy in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

Chelsea look to clinch slim Champions League hopes with away win at Newcastle United

Chelsea are playing Newcastle United on the final day of the Premier League season with Chelsea having a slim chance of clinching a top four place and a Champions League place for next season.

Chelsea have to defeat Newcastle on Sunday as well as Liverpool having to lose at home to Brighton & Hove Albion to secure a top four place.

Antonio Conte’s job relies heavily on qualifying for next seasons Champions League and it will give them automatic entry into the Champions League football for next season.

Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United team don’t have much to play for on the final day as they can’t qualify for Europe, neither can they get relegated so it is possible that they could field a weakened side ahead of the final game.

Liverpool’s game against Brighton as mentioned earlier is likely to not have too many consequences as Liverpool  will possibly play a strong team to clinch qualification.

Although even if they lose Liverpool could still win the Champions League which will be a remarkable achievement for Klopp considering the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez: “I said so many times, it has been a great season. At the beginning, the target was to stay up.To do that with five games to go is amazing.”

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte: “We’re struggling to take a place in the Champions League. But we play in a very tough league where there are six top teams fighting for a place.”

Guy Mowbray: “It’s considered vulgar to talk money, yet with Newcastle the topic of finance is never far away. Is the club any closer to being sold? How much will Rafa Benitez get to spend this summer?

Arsene Wenger’s last home match at Arsenal

Arsenal played their final match at home with Manager,Arsene Wenger for the last time and ended with an emphatic 5–0 win over Sean Dyche’s Burnley last Sunday.

Wenger is the club’s most successful manager having won 17 trophies overall over the last 22 years.

The club has been looking for a new manager ever since the announcement of him leaving at the end of the season was confirmed.

Alexandre LacazetteArsenal scored their opening goal through Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 14th minute (who was one of Wenger’s last signings) and the second came from strike partner Lacazette just before half-time.

Arsenal turned on the style in the second half with further goals from Sead Kolasnac, Alex Iwobi and Aubameyang to complete a brace.

The club still have two more fixtures to complete for the season both away from home with Leicester City in midweek and Huddersfield Town (still battling relegation) on the last day of the season.

There are several candidates reported who are interested in taking the job next season such as Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Leonardo Jardim who manages Monaco.

Quotes from the BBC Match Report

Bob Wilson – “The greatest manager we have ever had.”

Arsene Wenger – “It is 22 years of total commitment and togetherness. Overall I would like to thank everybody. I had the luxury of doing this job for 22 years at the same club and I am grateful for that.”

Sean Dyche “I think Arsenal raised their performance considerably. After the results yesterday we suddenly had nothing to play for and that affects players, they need something on the game.”

Chelsea’s crucial game to gain Champions League qualification

Chelsea play Liverpool this weekend in a crucial game to avoid playing Europa League football next season and gain entrance to the Champions League.

After the game there will only be three games remaining of the League campaign and they will have to defeat Liverpool and win all their other remaining games as well as Liverpool slipping up against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea also have the FA Cup Final on the last week of the domestic season after their final Premier League away game against Newcastle United which could potentially give them the Champions League football title.

Their recent form has improved recently compared to earlier this season winning seven of their last nine games in all competitions, pushing them into the Champions League race for qualification.

Antonio Conte’s job is on the line as it rests him to make sure his team get to qualify for Champions League football next season ahead of either Liverpool or Tottenham.

Lastly, Chelsea have to play several post season games on tour at the end of the season although these games don’t count for much as they aren’t included in the full official statistics as first class games and most players will be rested and on break because of World Cup commitments that same summer.

Crystal Palace produce five-star performance in quest to avoid Relegation

Crystal Palace played on Saturday against Leicester City in their attempt to avoid relegation to the Championship and produced a wonderful performance against a Leicester, although they had nothing to play for.

The opening goal came from Wilfred Zaha in 16 minutes, and it wasn’t long before their second goal by James McArthur made in 36 minutes making it even more difficult for Leicester to get back into the game.

Palace killed the game in the second half with further goals from Loftus-Cheek, Van Aanholt and Christian Benteke made a penalty shot towards the end of the game, which was only his 3rd goal of the season.

Leicester manager Claude Puel, after getting off to a good start, had a bad patch recently with his team as they had not won a single League game in a month.

Crystal Palace on the other hand move up to 11th place in the Premier League and will surely play Premier League football next season.

Crystal Palace play Stoke City away from home (another team in serious relegation trouble) next, in their continued attempt to avoid relegation to the Championship and win. Which will almost guarantee them playing in the Premier League next season.

Still all to play for in this weekends football action.

There are crucial games for London teams this weekend.Relegation battle, promotion and who’s getting into the European places in Premier League.

Luka Milivojevic

Crystal Palace play against Leicester City, Chelsea are playing away from home against Swansea City, Arsenal play Manchester United at Old Trafford, Spurs are playing Watford at home and lastly West Ham play Manchester City at the London Stadium.

Arsenal’s game against Manchester United is Arsene Wenger’s last game against the club in the Premier League and at Old Trafford

While Tottenham are trying to secure Champions League football for next season and will do with several more wins at the expense of Chelsea.

West Ham are still looking to secure PL survival for next season although Manchester City who ate already PL Champions are looking to break numerous PL records.

Crystal Palace like West Ham are also still looking to secure Premier League survival for another season with their game against Leicester City.

Chelsea are still looking to clinch a top four and Champions League appearance although out of their own hands when due to Spurs having the advantage as they take on Swansea City.

Eden Hazard Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s future as Chelsea manager partly rests on getting top four although an FA Cup win against Manchester United manager managed by ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would provide good consolation on a disappointing league season.
